Proud to be an American

Merrilee says she is proud to be an American.

It became official when immigration here at the Detroit airport stamped her Chinese passport.

We are waiting to board our final flight from Detroit to Baltimore.

Merrilee says "See you soon!"

Merrilee!!!

Your are HOME! I can't belive I talked to you on the phone and heard you say Da-Da. I practiced saying "wŏ ài nĭ" for weeks so that could be the first thing I said to you. Well, not that you remember, but I was so excited to talk to you, all I remember saying is "woo wa wa woo wee"...nothing even close to "wŏ ài nĭ"!!

Mommy told me you did wonderful on the flight home - you even took a nap. You are such a good little girl.

I have some ice cream for you and hope to see you at the cookout this evening.

Last night I dreamed about you. It seemed like my dreams went on all night about playing with you.

LOTS OF LOVE, HUGS, and KISSES to YOU!!!

Glad to hear that you all made it safe and sound. Sounds like the flight was not to bad. I will call you all either later today or tomorrow. I am so happy for you all. Just want to give you a chance to get settled back in.

So glad all of you made it home safely! Can't wait for an update on the blog, and news of how little Merrilee enjoys all the new sights, sounds, and soon-to-be familiar faces of the many folks that love her. Best wishes to all of you!

I know you're busy, so I am just sitting here quietly, waiting. Just waiting. And I'm being quiet. Not getting too impatient for those pictures or anything. I know you have jet lag. So I'm waiting patiently....
Love,
Petrie
